Mónica Dixon. Somewhere… Nowhere

Of American origin in “Somewhere… Nowhere”, the artist shows landscapes with houses and interiors in which she reflects, both at a thematic and aesthetic level, the coherent evolution of her work. As Natalia Alonso Arduengo argues in the critical text of the exhibition, “in this exhibition Mónica Dixon confronts the viewer as a housing subject to a double reality: the dream house versus abstract architecture, the dream home versus a scenario characterized by neutrality space. The first represented in its outer appearance and the second in an internal way. The inside and the outside should have a continuity, a complementarity, but the truth is that these works are singled out precisely because of that, because of the tension and dichotomy between both parties even when the absence of the resident is a common link in the two approaches.”
