He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA in 1971. He explores in his works new ways of understanding landscape, portrait and still life. Through a deeply subjective and personal approach to these classic genres, Woods creates images of an enigmatic parallel world. His latest works represent landscapes of Long Island (New York), Mallorca and the Caribbean, populated by a series of infra-human figures that inhabit tree branches or other similar places of bucolic character. These characters are interrelated in a psychological and social level in which the influences of Goya, C.D. Friedrich and the surrealist movement, among others.
