Mare Crudele intends to introduce a lively underwater nightmare, carnival-like, vaguely inspired by the Italian postwar cabaret and Neapolitan baroque painting. The cycle of paintings is conceived as a giant puzzle, each of whose pieces measures 120 x 120 cm Many of them can be placed randomly, within the set or independently, altering the rhythm and sense of the overall composition.
Luis Vigil began the realization of his mural cycle Mare Crudele in his studio in Barcelona. His creations have been completed in recent months working in the gallery of El Salvador itself, so the exhibition is in a way a tribute to that time in the Raval neighborhood, today in inexorable deconstruction.
