“Urbanas” takes us into the pictorial universe of María Peña, a nomadic Asturian artist, who in this exhibition project looks at other women in motion that she has met in the big cities of the world, captivated by their strength, resilience and sisterhood. Her journey has taken her to live in Paris, New York, London, Madrid or Sao Paulo and to spend time in Beijing, Port-au-Prince or Addis Ababa, living among stories from all latitudes. Some of the works presented in this exhibition have migrated from the canvases to the streets of Paris, amplifying the conversation and reclaiming the presence of women in the urban landscape.
