“Urbanas” immerses us in the pictorial universe of María Peña, a nomadic Asturian artist. In this exhibition project, she turns her gaze toward other women on the move whom she has met in the world’s major cities, captivated by their strength, resilience, and sisterhood.
Her journey has taken her to live in Paris, New York, London, Madrid, and São Paulo, as well as to spend time in Beijing, Port-au-Prince, and Addis Ababa, where she has shared stories from all corners of the globe.
Some of the works featured in this exhibition have migrated from canvases to the streets of Paris, amplifying the conversation and reclaiming the presence of women in the urban landscape.
